On June 27, the Supervisory and Expert Council of the Special Economic Zone Lotus approved two projects worth over 1 billion rubles, presented by potential residents of the SEZ Lotus.
The company Naval Design International was registered in the territory of the Astrakhan region in order to start a production of panels for sea/river vessels and offshore fleet, which are used for interior decoration of the ships. The cost of the project is more than 400 million rubles. The investors are representatives of an Italian business, who implement projects in the field of shipbuilding.
"Currently, there are no manufacturers of ship panels in the Russian Federation, there are only representatives of foreign companies. That’s why we decided to localize our production here and we chose the Astrakhan special economic zone" - said the representative of the company.
The company plans to produce about 400 thousand m² of panels per year when operating at full capacity. The company is also considering the production of ceiling panels and special rooms for ships (for example, cold storage rooms, laundry rooms and kitchens) to expand its production.
The second company, AZKA KOMPOSIT, will open a fiberglass pipes factory in the SEZ Lotus and the total investments cost will be more than 700 million rubles. Fiberglass pipes have been widely used in the world for more than 50 years to increase the lifespan, the reliability and safety of pipeline systems, and to update outdated pipeline stock. The company's products will be highly demanded by companies operating in the housing and communal sector, in the oil and gas, agriculture, chemical industry and others. At the first stage of the project implementation, the company is planning to produce fiberglass pipes for municipal engineering.
