JSC Gexa-Lotos launched new equipment as part of technical modernization of the geosynthetic fabrics plant. The launch ceremony was attended by Denis Afanasiev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region, and Ilya Volynsky, Minister of Industry, Trade and Energy of the region. The management company of the Caspian Cluster of special economic zones was represented by Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC.
The extrusion machine, which produces tape yarn out of polymeric compounds, will make it possible to produce at least 150 tonnes more yarn, doubling the annual plant's output to around 25 million square meters. This is the second machine of this kind at the plant. JSC Gexa-Lotos will now be able to produce up to 300 tons of geosynthetic materials per month.
– In the Russian Federation, such products are in great demand for road construction and other industries. The company’s prospects are therefore promising. They are developing and investing dynamically enough. We are constantly supporting the company, – noted Denis Afanasiev, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Astrakhan Region.
For example, in 2022 the company received a preferential loan of 40.5 million rubles from the Industrial Development Fund of the Astrakhan Region. The money has been spent on the construction works – metal structures are being built for the plant’s third line. Weaving technologies will be promoted there.
– We plan to launch the workshop by the end of this year. Its space will be used to scale up the current production and start manufacturing goods for the agricultural industry – shade nets, which Astrakhan needs as an agricultural region. The total investment volume from the beginning of implementation exceeds half a billion rubles. Investments in the third line of the plant will amount to about 250 million rubles after the purchase of the equipment, – said Alexander Kochetkov, General Director of JSC Gexa-Lotos.
The company manufactures products predominantly from the Russian raw materials and exports its products not only to the Russian market, but also to Kazakhstan and other Caspian and neighboring countries. JSC Gexa-Netkaniye Materialy, the head company of the Astrakhan Gexa-Lotos JSC, signed the agreements of intent to cooperate with African partners at the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum.
– We are always delighted to hear about the successes of our tenants. The Gexa-Lotos plant is one of the first companies established in the industrial Special Economic Zone. We are doubly pleased by the fact that the company has managed to build the two lines and has already started the construction of the third, while upgrading the production process and thus increasing the volume of manufactured products. This demonstrates the effective participation in such a form of cooperation with the state, where certain preferences and benefits support the development of Russian companies and their access to external markets, – comments Andrey Nalimov, Deputy Director General of the Management Company of the Caspian Cluster.
