Sergey Milushkin took part in the events related to the 44th anniversary of Islamic Revolution in Islamic Republic of Iran

The Consulate General of Iran in Astrakhan held a ceremonial reception devoted to the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran. The Governor Igor Babushkin, representatives of authorities, members of parliament, businesspersons, the heads of educational organizations, scientists and workers of culture were among visitors. Sergey Milushkin, Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC, was also invited to be a guest in the ceremony.

– All-sided relations between two our countries advance with a positive rate. Thus, the last year the mutually profitable cooperation between the Astrakhan Region and Iran has entered a new phase. Transitional location of the Astrakhan Region affords an exclusive opportunity to enhance commercial and economic contacts between the countries, – said Mehdi Akouchekian, the Consul General of Iran in Astrakhan at the opening ceremony.

More than 40 years after the revolution, Iran has taken the 4th place in the world by robotic technologies production, the 10th place in the volume of iron and steel production, the 12th place in shipbuilding and marine equipment. Iran is one of the leading partners for the Astrakhan Region with established close cooperation in commercial, logistic and transportation spheres.

– We deeply respect your glorious country and appreciate devotion to the principles of neighbourliness. The cooperation with Iran is of a special importance for the Astrakhan Region. We are not only neighbours in the Caspian Sea. We are connected by a centuries-old history and friendship, – referred the Governor, Igor Babushkin, in response.

The large Iranian holding company Golrang Industrial Group started the construction of the first abstergent plant on the territory of the industrial production special economic zone Lotus. Mostazafan Foundation and SEZ Lotus JSC also singed an agreement of cooperation in working-out mutual enterprises to expand the International North-South Transport Corridor; the foundation is the second significant business association in Iran after National Iranian Oil Company and one of the largest in the Middle East.

– We started to develop relationships with Iran during the first days after formation of SEZ Lotus. It’s our strategic partner in developing the International North-South Transport Corridor and the Port SEZ. We established cooperation with Anzali and Chabahar economic zones and work out execution of mutual projects at each other’s territories. The first Iranian plant is under construction in SEZ Lotus and the partnership in shipbuilding and maritime traffic are being developed. We are grateful to our Iranian partners for the long-lasting profitable cooperation and congratulate them on national holiday which is significant for every citizen of this country, – comments Sergey Milushkin, Director General of SEZ Lotus JSC.
