New Tenants: ballast water treatment systems and solar panels will be produced in SEZ Lotus
The list of SEZ Lotus tenants was supplemented with two new companies with projects worth over 1 billion rubles. On December 11 and 12 the supervisory and expert councils of the Astrakhan SEZ approved the business plans of the Russian companies Stroyliderplus Lotos and Helios Systems.

The project of Stroyliderplus Lotos envisages the production of ballast water treatment systems. The International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships Ballast Water and Sediments (BWMC), the main requirement of which is to equip all vessels with systems for cleaning ballast water from harmful microorganisms, came into force on September 8, 2017. The Russian Federation currently does not produce its own ballast water treatment systems. StroyLiderplus Lotos has experience in operating these systems and concluded an agreement with one of the world leaders in this segment - a company from South Korea. Its modern equipment and experience will be applied in the project. As the Director General of the company Damir Aliyev noted, the system is developed for a specific vessel and often in a single copy. The total investment costs for the project are estimated at 133.12 million rubles.

Another Russian company, Helios Systems, is setting up production of 300 W photovoltaic solar panels from polycrystalline and monocrystalline nitrogen in Special Economic Zone Lotus. Crystalls will be also grown in the framework of this project on the further stages of its implementation. The panels are used in the construction of solar power plants, small energy facilities, as well as in everyday life. The main consumers of this production are the enterprises of the Southern Federal District, as well as the Caspian-bordering states - Iran, Kazakhstan. The total investment costs in the project are estimated at 886.54 million rubles.

“Both projects are aimed at import substitution and are relevant not only for the Astrakhan Region, but also for the south of Russia, our Caspian neighbors and partners in the development of the North-South transport corridor. We have selected land plots corresponding with the requirements of the companies and are ready to provide them with the necessary engineering capacities,” said Sergey Milushkin, Director General of SEZ Lotus, PJSC.
